Sapphire - September

Sapphire, the birthstone of September, is a stone said to inspire creativity and intuition. Since ancient times, Sapphires were said to represent the purity of the soul.

Most Sapphires are blue, from light blue to a deep indigo, but Sapphires are also found in colours such as pink, violet, yellow, green, and white. Sapphires are sometimes found with a six-sided asterism caused by inclusions of tiny, thin , needles of rutile. These Sapphires are called Star Sapphires and are very sought after.
